Uptown Shelby will again be the venue for the Host City Welcome, an event designed specially to acquaint teams and national American Legion officials with the host city and its distinctive and historic atmosphere. Some of the Uptown businesses will have sidewalk sales to introduce first comers to their offerings.
City officials agreed to increase the space allotted for the event to accommodate the crowd expected for the headline entertainment-Parmalee- a four-member band from Parmalee, N.C. Summer Brooke and the Mountain Faith Band will open for Paramlee.
